So, I feel kind of bad given the graphic literally right above this text displays that I’m working on a given story (notably one my patrons voted on) and yet the last two stories I released weren’t even labeled to patrons as options for stories I could write. It may not seem like a big deal to some, but to me it weighs on my mind a fair bit, so for the record, I’m sorry that story is taking me so long, even if the stories in the meantime are enjoyed.
Especially in times of stress, my mind tends to wander sometimes. This decision to publish these two stories came after spending a good two days attempting to write A Deal’s a Deal and getting maybe three sentences down. Two whole days spent staring at a (mostly) blank screen, getting frustrated, pacing the room, and inevitably getting distracted. Not getting the piece everyone voted on is not great, but getting nothing out was worse, or so I’ve reasoned to myself.
I’m going to make another attempt to write A Deal’s a Deal Chapter One in this coming month. Hopefully it’ll come out alright. Going forward I seem to have made my schedule bearable again, so that should be able to contribute to my writing ability, but… we all know how unpredictable my work ethic is by this point, right? Hopefully the ends justify the means.
That said, I’ll be open and honest in these blogs going forward if I find myself unable to write a certain story. Now that I have consistent comments and feedback on these (and sincerely, thank you to those that comment, email me, message me on Twitter, etc) I’ll be sure to keep you all updated with my thoughts as they happen, and of course, I will take more than my own thoughts into consideration – your thoughts matter too. After all, you all are the reason I write in the first place. I can’t overstate how much I appreciate that. I’ll talk to you all next week.
